In Tibetan Buddhism, Tara is considered to be the bodhisattva of compassion and action. She is the female aspect of Avalokiteshvara the bodhisattva of compassion. Tara is also known as a saviour. A celestial deity who hears the calls of beings suffering in samskara.
White Tara is extremely powerful. She is as close to sensitive beings as a mother to her children. She is quick to fulfill desires, to give happiness, long life as well as to help develop wisdom. Taking refuge in Tara, practicing the meditations, visualizations and having faith have the power to eliminate obstacles and to prolong life.
White Tara aids us in overcoming obstacles of the mind and body. At a relative level, Tara rescues us from illnesses and health issues that seem “external”.
